After an undergraduate degree in Social Anthropology at Cambridge (including Part 1 in Social and Political Sciences), I worked as a news producer on BBC Radio Four, and then as a Further Education Anthropology teacher at Truro College, Cornwall, before being drawn back into academia by the possibilities it offers to really engage with big ideas.

I am interested in death, birth, personhood, kinship, embodiment and gender, and my ESRC funded PhD on Second Trimester pregnancy loss brings all these themes together.

I completed the Exeter MRes in Science and Technology Studies with distinction in 2017.
