Meftah Asmaa is currently a PhD student at the Department of Arab and Islamic Studies, University of Exeter. Asmaa's research focuses on the intersections of world literature, postcolonial theory and environmental criticism. She is particularly interested in Arabic literature and culture (Mahmoud Darwish, Ghassan Kanafani, Tawfiq Ziyad, Raja Shehadeh and other Palestinian writers ) and Eco-postcolonial theory or what is known as green post-colonialism.

 

At present, she is teaching the module of Histories of the Middle East as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies. 

She is also  mentoring undergraduate students at Career Mentor Scheme, University of Exeter.
