Project Summary

My research, funded by the Cornwall Heritage Trust examines the Cornish language from the late eighteenth century to the early twentieth century. Specifically, I am examining what the reach of Kernewek was in the 18th and 19th Centuries, how Cornish language use was recorded in the period, what relationships were developed with other Celtic nations, especially Brittany in the period and examine the authentic v reborn language debate.
