I started a part-time doctorate (Ed.D) in TESOL in July 2013 and I’m now nearing the end of the two year pre-thesis stage of the programme. I have been teaching EFL/ESL for 15 years, first in Canada, then nine years in South Korea and five in Morocco. My experience ranges from kindergarten, to elementary school, private academies and university – at both under-graduate and graduate levels. 2016 will be a country/job transition year for me so I will be taking a year off  before starting my dissertation. (Destination as yet undecided, suggestions and job offers welcome!).

My current research interests include, culturally relevant pedagogy, context-sensitive professional practise, and virtual communities of practise for developing intercultural competence of ELTs abroad.
