 I chair meetings, delegate with a team, secure funding, invite speakers and publicise events. Recently we receieved a £2000 public engagement grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

I translate texts for human rights organisation, Memorial’s Virtual Museum of the Gulag from Russian into German and English.

October 2008 - present:

Organiser and Chair, Gown Meets Town  (August 2008 – present) - I have found speakers for and chaired the twice termly event, Gown Meets Town, where Ph.D and Masters students present their research in a non-academic setting at a local NGO, The Global Centre, in Exeter city.  The purpose of the event is to give students practice in presenting their research and to strengthen links between the university and the town.
