Efsevia Lasithiotaki was born in Chios Island in Greece in 1977. She graduated from the Tour Guiding School of Greece (1997) and then specialised in Middle Eastern studies in Durham University (2000). She has two masters from SOAS, University of London, in Middle Eastern Studies (2002), and Social Anthropology (2003), and a post-graduate degree in Counselling from Aegean University in Greece (2011). She speaks fluent Greek, English, German, Turkish, Arabic, and has studied extensively French, Italian, Russian and Armenian. She has worked as a qualified Tour Guide and for international organisations for several years and has taught languages in several countries.
