I have recently completed my AHRC-funded PhD in Russian Studies, researching Russian translations of English children’s classics published between the late-Victorian period and the Second World War. I passed my viva in October 2016 subject to minor corrections and was awarded my PhD degree in February 2017.

My research project is a continuation and extension of my MA dissertation for the University of Exeter (a critical analysis of Russian translations of Kenneth Grahame’s The Wind in the Willows). Before starting my MA in Translation at the University of Exeter, which I completed in 2011, I worked as a freelance English to Russian translator and interpreter in Russia and in England. I continue working on occasional English-Russian translation projects, as I believe that a sound research in translation is impossible without knowing the practical side of translation activity.
