Iris is a third year PhD researcher in the English Literature and Film department at the University of Exeter. Her research focuses on the literature and film produced by the Hellenic diaspora in the UK and the US during the long 20th century, with an emphasis on affective labour theories, the Medical Humanities, feminist theory, and on postcolonial and diaspora studies. 


Iris has a particular interest in World Literature and international film, that stems from her Greek/Danish background and being educated within the British school system. She currently focuses on the artistic production of the Mediterranean.  


Iris is a postgraduate teaching associate for the English module Approaches to Criticism, and part of the Researcher Development Team, providing PGR webinars. She is also an assistant editor for the English, Film and Creative Writing PGT&PGR academic journal, Exclamat!on, and an editor for the Postgraduate Journal of Medical Humanities.
