My first degree was in Theological Studies (Bristol) and has been followed by a Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma in Education then a Masters in Educational Research (all at Exeter). Building on previous research on Nonconformist responses to the ecumenical movement, as well as practical experience with Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, I am currently undertaking ESRC funded doctoral research on the influence of the ecumenical movement on the development of multi-faith Religious Education in England during the 1960s and 1970s. Previously, I have taught Religious Education in primary and secondary schools and more recently have been an Associate Research Fellow in the Graduate School of Education working on a variety of projects relating to the history of Religious Education and the development of Religious Education in the classroom. I am currently an Associate Course Tutor on the Postgraduate Certificate of Education and the MSc (Educational Research) programmes.
