I'm an ESRC-funded PhD candidate in the History Department at the University of Exeter writing a thesis entitled, Agrarian Capitalism in England: A new methodological approach.

My research challenges traditional approaches to the development of agrarian capitalism in England by proposing a new way of defining and measuring capitalist agrarian development. I link and geo-reference a range of sources such as poor rates, tithe accounts, and manorial records to reconstruct and map landholding in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century parishes.

I completed a BA in History in 2012 and an MA in History in 2013, both at the University of Exeter. In 2013, I was granted an ESRC 1+3 award to fund an MRes in Economic and Social and a PhD in History at Exeter.
