College: College of Humanities

As a researcher I am very much a hybrid who believes in a multidisciplinary approach to the majority of questions. Having initially studied a BA in Ancient History at Exeter University, I went on to complete an MA in International Relations before journeying back down to corridor to begin my PhD. My PhD investigates the popular legitimacy of tyranny in Syracuse in the 5th and 4th centuries BCE, aiming to reconcile modern populist theories with ancient political thought in order to better understand this phenomenon.

I am also a co-editor of the Classics and Ancient History departmental journal 'Pegasus' for the 2019-20 edition.
