In her professional capacity as the Clinical Program Lead at the Child Development Center (CDC) in Doha, Qatar, Kamila's role involves supervising the provision of multi-disciplinary therapy services at a center for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. Kamila moved to Qatar in 2015 to be part of the multi-disciplinary team at CDC and she continues to support children with disabilities and their families and she actively contributes to the local autism communities.

 

Kamila has worked in the field of Autism and developmental disabilities in Ireland since 2009. She has a BA in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Kamila also holds a Master of Science in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from the University College Dublin. She is currently completing a Doctorate in Education with a specialization in Special Needs and Inclusive Education at the University of Exeter, UK.

 

Kamila is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Feeding Specialist certified in the Assessment and Treatment Using the Sequential Oral Sensory (S.O.S.) Approach to Feeding and A Sensory-Motor Approach to Feeding (Talk Tools). She is also certified in the Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) for children presenting with oral motor difficulties. Furthermore, Kamila is also qualified in the administration of Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2 (ADOS-2) and Autism Diagnostic Interview - Revised (ADI-R) for the purpose of clinical assessments of children with autism.

 

Kamila has dedicated her professional clinical work to creating meaningful change for children with disabilities and their families. She has worked for many years in assessing and developing comprehensive therapy programs for children presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disabilities and language delays.

 

Kamila specializes in the area of Early Intervention (EI) and has extensive experience in the development and implementation of multi-disciplinary therapy programs based on the verbal behavior and the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) approach. She also has broad experience in the provision of educational and behavioral support services for school-aged children across a variety of settings including center-based multi-disciplinary teams, in-home therapy programs, inclusive and special schools, and residential facilities.Kamila recognizes that parents are important stakeholders and she has a particular interest in parent coaching. She is also acting as an educational consultant for nurseries and schools in Doha providing behavioral assessments and school consultations.
