Kate Holmes

Having been examined and passed my doctorate, I am looking for a permanent academic position.

I am currently developing ideas for my own post-doctoral research project. At present this includes: qualitative audience research into how aerial action is received differently according to lived experience of movement; widening the enquiry into 1920s aerial performance and femininity by examining the female impersonator Barbette; or considering how comedy, rather than virtuosity, functioned within 1920s acts such as Charlie Rivels.

I am also interested in widening my research by working on established projects as a post-doctoral research assistant within the fields of performance history, popular performance or embodied non-dramatic performance forms.
