Education

2009-present:

Cornwall

·           PhD, University of Exeter

Major:  Renewable Energy, funded by PRIMaRE

The research is focused on design and control of direct drive linear Permanent Magnet Generators using finite element analysis. The generators are designed to be used in Wave Energy Converters. The research goals are force reduction (forces affecting the bearings) and boosting the power output of the generators. Further, design of grid integration system has been done.

2008-2009:

London

MSc, Brunel University London (Final Mark: Merit)

Major: Sustainable Electrical Power, accredited by IET and EI

The course has been focused on Renewable Energy and Power System engineering. Design of sustainable electrical power systems and networks has been done using DIgSILENT, PowerFactory, IPSA, PowerWorld and Matlab/Simulink. Further, regulatory frameworks, electricity markets, power electronics and FACTS have been investigated.

Dissertation: Wind-farm production optimization using energy storage controlled technique.

2004-2008:

Sofia

BSc, Technical University of Sofia (UK Equivalent: First Class Honours Degree)

Major: Power Industry and Electric Equipment

The course has been focused on design of electrical systems in commercial buildings. Likewise, design of lightening systems, electrical machines, electrical apparatus, power systems and power electronics has been done.

Final year project: Design of 100 MW Photo-Voltaic Power Station
