Pinar Baban
I am a final year PhD student at Manufacturing Engineering.
Having graduated as an Industrial Engineer with High Honours degree from the University of Istanbul, I obtained my MS degree in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston/Massachusetts, USA, where I was granted a scholarship.
After graduation, my professional career started within Morgan Advanced Ceramics in Boston, which manufactures a wide variety of high-tech products, and continued with a four-year period at Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI) in Ankara. Following this experience on Auditing Quality Management Systems at TAI, I transferred to MAN Motors where I worked as a Quality Engineer until my departure for a PhD study at Exeter.
My academic area of interest covers mainly Quality Management and relevant issues. I am already researching into Supply Chain Quality Management at XMEC (Exeter Manufacturing Enterprise Centre) and taking advantage of a team of supervisors within the framework of a cooperation project in which the schools of Engineering and Business take place.
I have been teaching two Masters modules and supervising two MS theses throughout my time at Exeter.
