I graduated from Keele University in 1996 with a BA Dual (Hons) degree in French & Geography and I completed an MSc in International Development form the University of Bath in 2002.  I have worked in the public sector on rural development and Third Sector policy issues.

My research interests include the relationship between nature and human well-being, how this feeds into the motivations and meanings in tourism experiences and how such insights can be utilised in tourism and landscape management.

I completed my PhD (ESRC CASE studentship with Dorset County Council) in January 2014.  I am now working as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Rural Policy Research where (amongst other duties) I am developing proposals for future funding to continue researching the non-material benefits of nature in different environmental contexts and how environmental changes might impact human well-being.
