Jem BloomfieldEmail: jcb220@exeter.ac.uk School: College of Humanities I studied English at BA and MSt. level, concentrating on the literature and culture of the Early Modern period. My Master's work focused on productions and adaptations of Webster's The Duchess of Malfi during the seventeenth and eighteenth century; the complex and varied production history I discovered led me to develop the project at PhD level. This play's four hundred years of performance and printing allows me to indulge a fascination with the ways in which theatrical culture engages with, co-opts and imagines the past. |
