Jessica MonaghanEmail: jkm208@exeter.ac.uk School: College of Humanities I grew up in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and attended St. Aidan's Church of England High School, before moving to Durham to study English Literature and History. After graduating in 2010 with a BA First Class Honours I continued my studies in Durham, undertaking an MA in Early Modern History, for which I received an MA with Distinction in autumn 2011. During my time at Durham University I also pursued my historical interests in my spare time, working for North Yorkshire County Council as museum attendant in the local facilities. I am currently in the second year of my PhD in History at Exeter university, researching attitudes towards fashionable illnesses and concerns about the simulation of these conditions in eighteenth-century Britain, a topic which builds upon my interests in the medical and cultural history and literature of British society during this period. |
