At the moment I am undertaking a PhD thesis on "Devon as a Home Front during the First World War" under the joint supervision of Dr Tim Rees and Dr Richard Toye. This county based assignment will take into account the intricate relationship between the cities, the towns and the countryside to understand the links between urban and rural communities in a unprecedented time of industrial warfare and sacrifice participation.
