I am doing a PhD on 'The Progressive ideas of Anna Letitia Barbauld'. I have completed an MA in Victorian Studies at Exeter University. My dissertation was 'Moralising Mammon: Stocks, Shares and Speculators in Victorian Britain', which examined the Victorians' attitudes to finance and how they balanced spirtual concerns with mercenary motives.
