Stephanie Boland is a PhD student interested questions of media, space and place, form and textual history. Her thesis is on modernism and non-fiction from 1918-1955, with a particular focus on how "instructional" genres force a meeting between broad ideology and practical strategies of everyday life.

Her work has appeared in venues including the Cambridge Quarterly, TLS and JJQ, including publications on social network theory, James Joyce and various reviews. She is a regular writer at the New Statesman. 

Her PhD and MA (Queen Mary, University of London) were funded by the AHRC.
