I am an Early Career Researcher in Theatre and Performance.

My work exists at the intersections of theatre and performance in India, gender and feminism, performance and the city, South Asian urbanisms, postcolonial theory, urban ethnography, religion in public spaces. I engage with these interdisciplinary interests through my active involvement with the Performance in Public Spaces working group of the International Federation of Theatre Research, which I also co-convened for 2011-2013.

I completed a dual Masters in International Performance Research at the universities of Warwick and Amsterdam with the support of a generous grant from the European Commission’s Erasmus Mundus scholarship. My PhD, undertaken at the University of Exeter and funded by UKIERI grant, focused on Indian theatre practices, both contemporary and historical, and their negotiation with the urban spatiality of Delhi. I am currently developing this work for publication as a monograph.

I am a member of the SCUDD PG subcommittee.
