Medieval Boroughs of South Devon in Their Regional Context

A multidisciplinary approach combining documentary, topographical, archaeological and place-name evidence was used in this historical study of the origins and early history of a closely related group of boroughs in South Devon.  Their regional context was studied in order to enhance the unerstanding of their raison d'etre, locations and function.
