Thomas Chadwick

I am a PhD candidate in my second year at the University of Exeter. My research concerns Norman ethnicity in the eleventh and twelfth centuries and I am based within the Centre for Medieval Studies.

Prior to studying at Exeter I studied at the University of Nottingham, completing a MA in History in 2012 and a BA in Ancient History and History in 2011. My previous research topics have included the motivation and experiences of Norman individuals on the First Crusade and a comparative examination of the codes of honour in medieval Europe and Japan, chivalry and Bushidō.
