Originally from Twickenham, Middlesex, and having completed a BA in Ancient and Modern History followed by an MSt in Modern British and European History at the Univeristy of Oxford, I arrived at Exeter as an MPhil/PhD student in Autumn 2012. My research is on the role of private enterprise in smuggling prevention in eighteenth-century Britain, and is kindly funded by the AHRC through the Block Grant Partnership scheme.
