Project Summary

The current EPSRC project that I currently work on is entitled Self-powered wearable sensors for vital signs monitoring. The main objective of this project is to harvest mechanical energy from the human body as a result of motion and convert it into electrical energy for powering up sensors that monitor body temperature, breathing rate and cardiac activity. Therefore, the current research work is centered around Triboelectric Nanogenerators (TENGs). The extensive research investigation that is conducted within our group (led by Dr Ana Neves) involves the fabrication of graphene using CVD technique as well as integrating these 2D materials into TENG devices.

Wider Research Interests

My wider research interests include thermal and mechanical energy harvesting, advanced organic materials, wearable electronics.
