I studied for a Master of Arts degree in English literature at Tohoku University in Japan. After teaching in Japan, I also received a Master of Education degree in TESOL from the University of Exeter. I am currently a doctoral research student in the College of Social Sciences and Internationa Studies at the University of Exeter. My research interests include collaborative teaching by the non-native speaking and native speaking teachers, intercultural studies on gardens between the UK and Japan and the role of gardens in the writings of Henry James and Rudyard Kipling.
