Hi - my name is Ammar I. Edress Mohamed. I am doing a PhD on Producing mathematical models of corner-type heads and shield for fields from Corner-type Magnetic Recording Heads,  supervised by Dr. Mustafa Aziz, Professor David Right. I did my BSc and MSc in Mathematics at Mosul University, Iraq. My current work is an interdisciplinary project which will contain Mathematical modelling of the read, write and noise processes in two-dimensional magnetic recording. The hard-disk drive technology enjoyed tremendous success over the years with storage capacities increasing sometimes at a 100% annual rate. This was mainly due to the advancement in the disk material, scaling down of important feature dimensions in the read/write heads and materials, the introduction and continued development of high sensitivity readout sensors, and advancement in coding and signal processing techniques. Further increases in the storage capacity of hard disk drives requires the reduction in the size of the information bearing unit on the disk
