I was born in 1983 in Athens. Later in life I began my undergraduate training studying Biology at the University of Ioannina. At some point in my final year, I became interested in philosophy. I continued my studies pursuing master's degrees in Bioethics and the History and Philosophy of Biology at the Universities of Crete and Exeter respectively. I have just been awarded my PhD. (30/1/2015). My research is on the normativity of epistemic claims in science. Scientific claims are genuinely epistemic on the basis of the styles of thinking and doing in the western scientific tradition. These styles are historically discernible areas of reason. Reason is the human ability to order mental content; that includes sentiments and thoughts. The actual ordering is a matter of socialization, interaction with the physical world and personal history. Reason is a socio-cultural variable.
