I am a postdoctoral teaching and research assistant in the Department of Politics. Having grown up in mid Wales, I studied History and German for my undergraduate degree at Jesus College, Oxford, and studied for my Masters in International Relations at Oxford Brookes. I have lived and worked in Cologne, Bonn, and Berlin, gaining experience in health and social care and support work, and in translation (German to English). I have been actively involved in UK green and anti-nuclear politics, including Climate Camp, Stop Hinkley, and the Stop Nuclear Power Network. My doctoral thesis, Articulating ecological injustices of nuclear energy, intervened in contemporary debates over nuclear energy in the context of climate change, emphasising the importance of attending to and more clearly articulating injustices beyond the nature/culture divide, particularly in areas (such as science and technology) which are understood to be separate from and above 'politics'.
