I have over 30 years’ experience in education as a teacher, headteacher, school inspector, independent consultant and a government policy adviser.  My experience includes 20 years teaching and school leadership in the UK. I have also worked in higher education as a senior lecturer and course leader for teacher education, both initial and post graduate.  I lived and worked in the Middle East for 10 years;  as adviser to the Supreme Education Council of Qatar's school reform programme and in the UAE Ministry of Education as programme Director of the School Evaluation & Improvement Programme. My key areas of interest include special needs education, early years, literacy, and school governance and leadership. I am particularly interested in education in the Gulf region.
