Project Summary

I am currently studying for a PhD on "Indigenous Shakespeare and Botanic Creation."  This research aims to locate Shakespeare's plant knowledge with regard to the context of the British reformation and draws on an ethnobotanic approach usually reserved for the study of the botanical culture of indigenous peoples. In particular, I wish to challenge the widely-accepted view that Shakespeare was at the forefront of a scientific revolution and point to numerous medieval inheritances in his work.

Supervisory Team

My supervisors, Dr. Felicity Henderson and Prof. Karen Edwards have considerable expertise in exploring early modern science and nature.
