History PhD Candidate - The British Bombing Offensive: Media Representation and Public Perception, 1939-1945. Supervisor: Professor Richard Overy.

 

2005-2006:

University of Exeter - Graduate School of Education.

During the course of completing my History PGCE I covered several key areas of study. These included: Educational pedagogy, lesson plan construction and analysis (with reference to subject specialism in History and Religious Studies as a second subject specialism), curriculum development (preparing schemes of work and various other duties involved in academic teaching), educational psychology and professional practice.




2002-2005:

University of Exeter - History Department.

During my undergraduate degree I covered a variety of key areas of study. These included: Foundation History: one year course covering the essential tools for the study of the subject involving both the practical skills and academic understanding of historical study. Social and Military American History, European Early Modern and Modern History. My final year specialism was: Interpretations of the Holocaust and the Social and Political aspects of Nazi Germany. Dissertation title: 'The Boy Scouts and the Hitler Youth: A Comparative Study of Youth Movements under Totalitarianism and Democracy, a study in Organisation, Structure and Ideology.' For this research project I was supervised by Professor Richard Overy.

I designed a poster detailing my current research project (the representation of Allied bombing in WW2 in the British press during the war) for the Postgraduate Research Showcase as part of the Research Focus Week at the University of Exeter.
