I studied History at the University of York and graduated with a first-class honours degree. I then completed my MA in Medieval History, at the University of York. I wrote my dissertation on the late mediaeval chronicler Adam of Usk, and his interest in portents and prophecy, supervised by Dr Craig Taylor. I completed my Masters in 2014 with a distinction.

In 2015 I began my doctoral studies at the University of Exeter as a doctoral candidate funded by the AHRC through the South, West and Wales Doctoral Training Partnership, supervised by Professor James Clark (University of Exeter) and Professor Helen Fulton (University of Bristol).

During 2017 February to May I undertook a placement through the AHRC policy placement scheme in Parliament with the Environmental Audit Committee.

I was on the 2016 PGR Conference Committee, and acted as the reviews editor for Ex Historia in 2016. In 2017 I was the editor of Ex Historia in 2017.
