Project Summary
My project focuses on multimodal texts and how teachers and children design such texts. My research is still ongoing as I am exploring and comparing different pedagogic practices and designs of multimodal texts between primary schools in Malaysia and England.
On this project, I observed teachers teaching writing to children aged seven to nine from two schools in Malaysia and England. I also interviewed teachers and had a brief conversation with focus children. There is a collection of lesson plans, children's texts, classroom photographs and workshets.

Wider Research Interests
My research interests lie within early writers' multimodal writing. I am trying to move beyond language when discussing about children's writing. I am very much interested to understand how various modes of communications can be utilised by teachers and early writers to represent their texts, other than just linguistic description.
