Dr. Hugo Barbosa has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology, USA. Before joining the university as a lecturer in Human Dynamics and Urban Systems, Dr. Barbosa worked for three years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Physics and Astronomy Department of the University of Rochester, NY, where he actively contributed to a wide array of projects involving data analytics, complex systems and networks. His interests are mostly centred around the understanding of the mechanisms underlying complex human-centred dynamics such as cities, human mobility and social networks.
