I am a PhD candidate working on 'Simultaneous Balancing and Sequencing of Mixed-Model Parallel Two-Sided Assembly Lines' in the Department of Manufacturing Engineering, funded by a 4-year scholarship from Balikesir University and Turkish Council of Higher Education. I have also worked as a Research Assistant for the Balikesir University, Department of Industrial Engineering, since December 2009.

I received my BSc degree from Selcuk University (Turkey) in 2009, and MSc degree from Balikesir University (Turkey) in 2011, both in Industrial Engineering. Throughout my MSc education I am awarded Master Scholarship by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). After finishing my BSc, I worked for a trailer manufacturer as production planner for six months and gained some engineering skills during this period.

I serve as a member of Editorial Board of An International Journal of Optimization and Control: Theories & Applications (IJOCTA) since 2011, IAES International Journal of Artificial Intelligence (IJ-AI) since 2012, and Journal of Computer Sciences and Applications since 2013. I also carry out peer-reviewing works for many reputed academic journals including Applied Soft Computing (Elsevier), International Journal of Production Research (Taylor & Francis), Assembly Automation (Emerald), Neural Computing and Applications (Springer), Journal of Facilities Management (Emerald), The South African Journal of Industrial Engineering (SAJIE) and Iberoamerican Journal of Industrial Engineering (IJIE). I involved in organisation of well-recognised conferences, such as OR55 - The OR Society Annual Conference (UK), YOR18 - The OR Society Biennial Conference (UK), and 19th National Ergonomics Congress (Turkey). I have been accredited to the level of the Candidate Associate of the Operational Research Society UK (CandORS).

My areas of research interests focus on modelling and optimisation of manufacturing systems, including production planning and assembly line balancing problems, and their heuristic/meta-heuristic implementations as well as agent based approaches.
