My first encounter with Film Studies took place while studying for my A-levels at Strode College in Somerset. In 2005 I started on a combined-honours program in Italian and Film at the University of Exeter, but after my first year I transferred to the single-honours Film program. I graduated in 2008 with a BA (Hons.) in European and World Cinemas. In 2009 I started studying part-time for a Masters degree in FIlm Studies at King's College London, graduating in 2011. I am currently a PhD. student at the University of Exeter, conducting research which investigates how contemporary South Korean cinema has engaged with the peninsula's colonial past. The project is supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Association of Korean Scholars. I am originally from the South-West of England and currently live in Oxford.
