I am a fourth-year doctoral candidate based jointly at the University of Exeter and the Università di Pisa. I am a historian of early modern Europe, and my thesis examines the free port of Livorno (Tuscany).

Before beginning work on the PhD, I studied at the University of Cambridge where I completed a BA in History (first-class honours) and was awarded the Trevelyan History Prize. I then went on to complete an MPhil in Medieval History, also at Cambridge.

I am funded by the European Research Council project AveTransRisk and am supervised by Professor Maria Fusaro (Exeter) and Professor Andrea Addobbati (Pisa). I am currently based in Pisa.
