Researcher, Kalahari Meerkat Project

In my role as a Field Researcher at Cambridge University's Meerkat Project, I gained valuable skills in working with animals in the wild, collecting a range of detailed behavioural and life history data and a sound knowledge of how to use this data to answer questions about the evolutionary mechanisms underlying cooperatively breeding societies. I gained extensive knowledge of using field computers, radio telemetry, sound and video recording equipment, sample collection and GPS tracking. I was later invited to spend a further 3 months analysing life history data at Cambridge University's Large Animal Research Group.
