Project Summary
Understand how soil properties, especially phosphorus cycling, in tropical forests affect key parameters of both above and below ground compartments and the degree of coordination and feedbacks that such mechanisms show in natural low-fertility soils in Amazonia before and after nutrient addition. This information will provide the mechanistic basis of Amazon forests functioning regarding to climate and environmental changes in the future.
