I am a student of EdD (TESOL) programme at the University of Exeter (Dubai Campus). I hold an MA in literature from the University of Punjab, Pakistan and Cambridge DELTA qualification. I have been teaching EFL/ESL, specifically exam classes (IELTS, PET, KET) for the last 15 years. This has developed my keen interest in EAP for Asian students in their local context.

In addition to teaching, I have been a member of the curriculum committee of a university English program where I worked in designing and writing student learning outcomes. I also worked as a teacher observer during this time. In 2011, I got an opportunity to work as an assessment coordinator in one of the largest EFL programmes in Saudi Arabia. I worked in this position for three years and gained rich experience in the basics of language testing.

My present research interests include using corpora for EAP material development and the relationship between critical thinking and EAP writing in the South Asian perspective.
