Critically assessing EFL textbooks

Halliday's (1973) theory of language (language should be used for communicating: instruction, regulatory, interactional, personal, heuristic, imaginative, and representational) encourages research and dialog about how teachers can critically look at textbooks in the Gulf region which should prepare higher education learners for the global market.

My research investigates a popular US coursebook and discovers misrepresentation and dishonest information presented as factual learning points for US secondary students.
