Nick Kirsop-Taylor is a Political Ecologist and PhD Doctoral Researcher at the University of Exeter's Land, Environment, Economics and Policy Institute (LEEP).  He is engaged in a research agenda that includes the ecosystem approach, ecosystem science, environmental policy, the UK environmental voluntary sector and environmental market based instruments.  Specifically, his doctoral thesis is investigating the degree to which the Ecosystem Approach of the Convention on Biological Diversity has been implemented by organisations and environmental managers in the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.  Previous to working at LEEP Nick worked for many years in private and voluntary sector organisations in the offshore renewable energy industry in roles that included policy delivery, industrial development and supply chain management.  Consequently he has strong experience of interfacing with voluntary and private sector businesses, and has successfully won and delivered EU funded projects, national programmes as well as regional clustering initiatives.
