I would like to continue my teaching at the Medical School, and further explore the way other fields, like medical sociology or medical humanities, can contribute to complete and enhance the students’ skills and fitness for practicing medicine. Medical humanities and medical sociology can contribute to all three outcomes stipulated in the GMC’s publication Tomorrow’s Doctors, preparing students to become well-rounded doctors: as scholars and scientists, as practitioners and as professionals.
I would like to develop my research regarding medical interpreting and to enhance the profile of medical humanities at the UEMS.
