I plan to follow a career in academia, both researching and teaching within the discipline of law. As well as teaching any of the core modules for a law degree, I would like to teach English legal history and I have a keen interest in Roman law. I believe an understanding of Roman law is important to understanding the foundations of many codified systems especially in regards to the constitutions of European states. I believe that in modern legal studies the importance of legal history and the foundations of law are too often overlooked and I would like to spend my career promoting the importance of legal history in legal education by teaching and continued research.
